Today is Debra's birthday.
Yesterday we drove to Portland and today we played in Portland.
Tomorrow we're going home.
| Our guide, Danielle, led our group of about ten through a course that included a stretch along the Willamette River. |
| While our group traveled by foot, we noticed more than one mode of transportation along the way. |
| The Moda Center was visible across the river. |
| We passed a few local residents. |
| Danielle educated us regarding some of the historical sites we passed. |
| The scores of people waiting in line at Voodoo Doughnut reminded me of the lines at Disneyland. |
| From the street, we descended underground and heard stories of the so-called Shanghai Tunnels. |
| After the tour, we stopped for lunch at a place we saw along Burnside Street, Elephant's Delicatessen. |
| Living Room. |
| Dining Room. |
| Kitchen. |
| Breakfast Room. |
| View overlooking Portland and Mt. Hood from one of the windows. |
| Learning about the lady of the house, Georgiana Pittock. |
| Learning about the man of the house, Henry Pittock. |
| Savoring the view from the yard. |
| Returning to the house from the yard. |
| As the day ended, we ate dinner at the Chart House. This is the view from my seat. |
| The view from Debra's seat. |
| "Don't take my picture!" |
| "Don't take my picture!" |
| "Don't take my picture!" |
| "STOP TAKING MY PICTURE!!!" |
| Salt, water, pepper, me. |
And that's how we spent Debra's birthday.
