BOB

At the end of a singles Bible study I was leading on Sunday night, Bob asked a lady from our group out on a date. She was a beautiful lady who had been attending our group for a while.

It bothered me that Bob used our meeting as an opportunity to ask her out.  It bothered me a lot. Since I was the leader of our group, I felt a moral obligation to confront the situation.

So on Monday, the very next day, I asked that same beautiful lady to marry me.

She said, "Yes".

That took care of Bob.

That happened exactly fourteen years ago today.

Bob with his face all pixeled out, as it should be.

The prize.
I got it.
Bob didn't.

NEW GYMNASTIC TUTORIALS ON YOU TUBE

Last night, after arriving at the Weathersby's, Naomi asked me to record a video of her teaching a few of her gymnastic tricks.  She was very serious about the project and was quite excited about recording her very first YouTube tutorial.

Tyler watched us producing this video and decided that he also wanted to flaunt his gymnastic skills in the form of a YouTube tutorial.

The results are, well, "amazing"!

First we have Naomi starring in "Four Amazing Gymnastic Tricks".

ONE DOZEN PUMPKIN PATCH TRIPS

Today the Weathersbys and I went on a pumpkin patch and corn maze trip for the twelfth time in the past thirteen years.  It was our fourth consecutive year at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm.

We arrived there shortly after they opened at 10:00 a.m. and we stayed for five hours.  By the time we left, nobody was bored.  But I had promised Naomi that she and I would go on a bicycle ride, just the two of us, after returning from our pumpkin patch trip.  Silas and I had already done a six-mile ride yesterday and today it was Naomi's turn.  We covered over four miles.

Then we returned to the house to watch TV and eat ice cream.

A great weekend!

CYCLING WEATHER

Debra and I woke up this morning to cool breezes, partly sunny and partly cloudy skies, and two bicycles that have been sitting idle for too long.

So we went for a bike ride.

Our pace was mostly leisurely with a few breaks.  After about an hour-and-a-half, we covered 13.01 miles and burned 638 calories, according to MapMyRide.

Debra and I chased our shadows along a bicycle trail that runs parallel to the freeway between Talent and Medford .  Southbound I-5 is on the other side of the chain link fence.

Near Phoenix, we took a break.

At U.S.Cellular Community Park in Medford, we decided to turn around and return home.
