GO BACK

Those were the words spoken from the Lithia Park bandshell while the rain poured down.

"Go back."

About twenty of us had gathered at the church about an hour earlier to load a bunch of folding chairs into a trailer.  Our pay for this job was minimum wage plus donuts, except without the minimum wage.  We created an exceedingly efficient assembly line and loaded maybe a couple hundred chairs in about twenty minutes.

Then we met at the park to set up the chairs for the outdoor Easter service.  But before even one chair was removed from the trailer, a voice on the stage signaled us back to the church.

"Go back."

The worship team apparently was not willing to be electrocuted during the downpour by their sound equipment while celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

So, we all went back to the church, unloaded the trailer and set up a few chairs in the foyer, which served as overflow seating for what turned out to be a great Easter Sunday.

The chairs and supplies were tied down for transport to the park.

Once at the park, the trailer was backed in for unloading.

The worship team covered some of their equipment with tarps while waiting for the rain to stop.

The rain did not stop and the words "Go back" sent everyone back to the church for an indoor service.

The trailer was unloaded.

The foyer was converted into an overflow room and everyone who attended the service left hearing the message that He is risen!
