A NIGHT WITH BILL AND DENNIS

Debra and I are big fans of The O'Reilly Factor

Believing that the best marriages are those in which the spouses eat dinner together while sitting in front of a television with plates on their laps and eyes on the screen, we routinely watch this program while spending quality meal time together.  We enjoy the bantering and debating between well-articulated arguments from both the liberal and conservative positions.

So, when we found out that the Bolder Fresher Tour was coming to Portland, we bought tickets and, since Motel 6 was already fully booked, we reserved a hotel room at the Paramount Hotel, which is only a two-block walk to the show.  Then we drove from the house on Oak Valley to see Bill O'Reilly and Dennis Miller perform live.

Booking a room at the Paramount Hotel saved us from the hassle of having to drive through downtown traffic and having to find parking before the show.  We left our car at the hotel and walked for about three minutes to get to the show.
Our room was on the 15th floor, which was the top floor of the hotel.
Standing at the elevator on the 15th floor.
The view from our room.  The Hilton was directly across the street from the theatre.
The street view from our room.
The show was performed at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
For the sake of convenience, not considering menu prices, we decided to eat dinner at a restaurant next door to the theater.  We should have considered the menu prices.  The Heathman Restaurant is kinda spendy for normal folks.
Since the menu price for a steak dinner was $49 each (entrée only, no soup or salad), we both decided to order a crab salad for "only" $17 each.  We were shocked and disappointed at the serving size when our plates arrived.
My hand is shown for size comparison.  Yeah, that's the size of our $17 salad.  And we ordered two of them.  After spending about $40 for two salads and a tip, we left hungry and found a frozen yogurt shop across the street from our hotel.  We supplemented our micro-salad with yogurt, left the yogurt shop with satisfied stomachs, and went to hang out with Bill and Dennis.
