AH, DEAN . . . Based on a True Story

Today my little brother, Dean, is celebrating his birthday.  By now he has probably opened the small package I sent to him containing a DVD titled Ah, Dean...Based on a True Story.  This video highlights four of Dean's many talents and accomplishments.

First, it references an old tugboat that sunk to the bottom of San Francisco Bay.  Dean bought it while it was still under water, had it dry-docked, restored it, and transformed it into an amazingly unique home in which he lived for several years.

Also, this new birthday video references an old 1927 Chevrolet station wagon.  Dean bought the rusted chassis and built a beautiful wooden body upon it.  He drove the vehicle for a short time and used it to promote his own business as craftsman and designer.

Next, Dean once took a class on how to build a guitar.  Then he built one.  A nice one.  It was a bass guitar.  It looked great and it sounded great when Dean performed.

Finally, Dean brilliantly portrayed Boris in the world famous YouTube video, The Monster Mash.

These four highlights are all showcased in this video.  Hair loss is also referenced for historical accuracy.

Dean's brand new birthday video,  released today for the first time to a worldwide audience, celebrates his sixty-one years of blissful existence and it parodies The Beatles' song, Girl, from their 1965 Rubber Soul album.  It also features brief guest appearances from his two nieces, Bethany and Belinda; and from his nephew, Ben.

Here it is:

  1. Hey! How come you use nice flattering pictures of Dean in his birthday blogs, and you pick the most unflattering pictures of me that you can find?? What's that about? Do you like Dean more than you like me???

    1. I'll never use unflattering pictures again, Judy. I love you both the same. In fact, I have loved you longer than I have loved Dean. Much longer.
